Other contenders include Vozinha from Cape Verde, who gained recognition during the 2026 World Cup, as well as representatives from Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Egypt, and Senegal.
In the best coach category, the list features several prominent figures, including Portuguese managers Alexandre Santos, currently with Petro de Luanda, and Miguel Cardoso of Mamelodi Sundowns. Other nominees include last year’s winner Bubista, Walid Regragui of Morocco, and Sébastien Desabre of DR Congo.
