CAF announces major investments in Argentina and Colombia
The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) has announced significant funding initiatives across the region. In Argentina, Governor Rolando Figueroa stated that CAF will invest approximately US$400 million in the province of Neuquén this year. This is part of a larger US$1 billion investment by CAF across Argentina. Neuquén is currently managing 17 projects with CAF financing, including four green energy initiatives.
In Colombia, CAF and BBVA have expanded their credit line from US$50 million to US$200 million. Of this total, US$41 million is specifically earmarked for reconstruction efforts following the earthquake on August 10. These funds will support the recovery of essential infrastructure and services, including roads, bridges, water systems, hospitals, schools, and energy networks for affected municipalities and private companies.
