CAF announces officiating changes for 2027 AFCON qualifiers
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has implemented several administrative and officiating changes for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers scheduled for September 29, 2026.
For the Madagascar versus Tanzania match held in Meknes, Togolese official Antoine Kossi Sedjro has been appointed as the match commissioner. Sedjro is responsible for overseeing organizational aspects, coordinating with officials and teams, and ensuring all match procedures are followed from pre-match preparations to the final official report.
In the Group C fixture between Ghana and The Gambia in Accra, Moroccan referee Mustapha Kechaf has replaced Jalal Jayed as the central official. The change was necessitated by Jayed’s unavailability due to a scheduling conflict with the 2026 Gulf Cup. Kechaf will be supported by assistant Lahsen Azgaou, while Yassine Saadaoui and Amir Loucif will serve as the second assistant and fourth official, respectively.
