CAF confirms hosts and schedules for 2027 AFCON and 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will co‑host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, with the tournament set to open on 19 June 2027 and conclude with the final on 17 July 2027. The three East African nations will automatically qualify as hosts, and the competition is expected to attract over 1.5 million spectators and a global TV audience of more than 3.2 billion.

CAF also released the official match schedule for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will be staged in Morocco’s cities of Rabat and Casablanca from 26 July to 16 August 2026. The revised calendar emphasizes player welfare, reducing travel by assigning each group to a single base and allowing roughly three days of rest between matches. The tournament will feature 16 teams, a $1 million prize for the champions, and will serve as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
