CAF to provide up to USD 3 billion for Paraguay infrastructure

CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean) has announced its intention to provide up to USD 3 billion in additional financing to Paraguay in the coming years. This funding aims to support both public and private projects, focusing on infrastructure, energy, water, sanitation, and digital connectivity. Regional Manager Jorge Srur emphasized the need for Paraguay to maintain its investment grade through fiscal prudence while leveraging its macroeconomic stability to boost productivity.

In tandem with international development support, domestic industrial growth is being bolstered by the 'Paraguay Industrial' program. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Development Finance Agency (AFD), offers up to USD 2.5 million in loans per beneficiary to help companies modernize, expand production, and adopt new technologies. The program features interest rates of 10.5% in guaraníes and 8.5% in dollars, with repayment terms of up to 15 years and grace periods of up to three years.
