Peru secures financial backing from IDB and CAF for 2026-2031

Peru has secured continued financial and technical support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) for the 2026-2031 period.

During meetings with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, representatives from both multilateral organizations confirmed their commitment to projects aimed at driving economic development, public investment, and emergency response. CAF will prioritize strategic areas including citizen security, transportation, tourism, and national natural gas infrastructure, while also providing assistance for El Niño climate mitigation.

The IDB is preparing eight new financing operations and evaluating additional support to address potential climate-related emergencies. The cooperation aims to strengthen public-private investment through strategic planning and regional integration.
