Café Pucheu opens training-focused eatery in Santiago

Chef Rafael Pucheu has inaugurated Café Pucheu in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The establishment operates as a self-service model designed to provide affordable food and beverages while serving as a practical training ground for students of the Escuela de Cocina Gourmet Pucheu.

According to Pucheu, the non-profit project aims to reduce operating costs to offer lower prices to customers and facilitate professional preparation through a theoretical-practical program. Students can specialize in coffee, cappuccinos, and various food items to prepare for entrepreneurship. The café is located on the third level of Plaza Alejo and offers a membership program with three tiers: Standard, Premium, and VIP.

Additionally, the culinary school maintains strategic alliances with companies such as Grupo Noah and AC Hotel by Marriott to facilitate student internships within recognized gastronomic chains.
