Cafayate resident alleges improper deal between municipality and developer

Marcos Lallampa has publicly denounced a suspected agreement between the Municipality of Cafayate and the construction company Saltapor. Lallampa claims the firm paved a city street as a form of 'barter' to secure the Municipal Environmental Certificate (CAM) required for a large-scale real estate project.

The development involves the construction of four to five towers containing approximately 200 apartments. Lallampa criticized the executive branch's evaluation criteria, arguing that environmental feasibility must consider the surrounding area rather than just the specific plot of land.

Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the potential impact of the massive residential complex on local infrastructure. Lallampa warned of an imminent risk of collapse in the sewage network and questioned the long-term capacity for wastewater treatment given the high volume of future residents.
