Cafetra Records releases compilation to support Lisbon housing protests
Independent record label Cafetra Records has released a solidarity compilation titled ‘Acampilação Fetra e Amigos – Canções para a Acampada’ to support the Acampada de Lisboa, a protest movement advocating for housing rights.
The compilation features 14 tracks from various artists, including Maria Reis, Lourenço Crespo, Éme, Deep Cuts, and Sallim. Available via the Bandcamp platform, the release operates on a pay-what-you-want basis, with all proceeds donated to the Lisbon protest camp.
The initiative comes amid ongoing housing crisis protests in Portugal. These demonstrations, which include organized camps and marches, began in Porto on October 10 and have since expanded to Lisbon and other cities. Protesters are demanding measures to address the housing crisis, control the prices of essential goods and fuel, and implement taxes on extraordinary corporate profits.
