Cafu inspires young Mumbai girls through football and education

Brazilian football legend and two-time World Cup winner Cafu visited Mumbai to engage with young players from the Dreaming in Slums Foundation. During his visit, he participated in a friendly match with girls aged 6 to 16 from underprivileged urban communities.

Cafu emphasized the importance of combining sports with formal education to build a better future. He noted that football serves as a powerful tool for social connection, building confidence, and developing life skills. He encouraged the participants to pursue both their athletic interests and their schooling simultaneously.

Regarding the development of football in India, Cafu observed that the country is increasing its annual investment in sports. He expressed confidence that if India continues to invest and focuses on developing professional players, the nation has the potential to become one of the world’s strongest football teams.
