Cagayan Province integrates science and technology for disaster preparedness

The Province of Cagayan is working to strengthen its disaster risk reduction and management efforts by integrating science and technology into local governance. Governor Edgardo B. Aglipay emphasized the need for proactive preparedness due to the region's exposure to typhoons, volcanic activity, and potential tsunamis.

To support these efforts, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is providing technical assistance and scientific tools. This includes the operational use of the Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MoCCoV), which is designed to enhance field-based communication, surveillance, and situational awareness during emergencies.
