Cagliari begins redevelopment of San Bartolomeo canal walkways

Work has begun on the redevelopment of the historic pedestrian and cycle paths over the San Bartolomeo canal in Cagliari. The project aims to modernize the connection between the Monte Mixi Sports Citadel and the stadium area, transforming aging infrastructure into a safe, well-lit, and modern link.

Co-financed by the European Union through the PN Metro Plus and Città Medie Sud 2021-2027 program, the intervention will replace old coverings with white aluminum shells featuring a geometric pattern to improve natural light. The project also includes upgrading the two-way cycle path to better integrate with the existing local network.
