Cagliari man arrested for alleged sexual violence against 12-year-old daughter

A 55-year-old man has been arrested by the Cagliari Mobile Squad on charges of sexual violence against a minor. The investigation follows the pregnancy of the man's 12-year-old daughter.

The case began in October of last year when the girl visited a hospital with her parents regarding her menstrual cycle. Medical examinations revealed she was pregnant, prompting healthcare staff to alert law enforcement. At that time, the girl initially told investigators she had been attacked by an unknown person on the street while returning home.

To identify the perpetrator, the Prosecutor's Office of Cagliari ordered DNA testing on the fetus, as well as on family members and acquaintances. Recent DNA results directed suspicion toward the girl's father. The man is currently held in Uta prison awaiting a guarantee interrogation.
