Cagliari travels to Madrid for friendly against Rayo Vallecano
Cagliari Calcio will face Rayo Vallecano in Madrid for the 10th edition of the Trofeo de Vallecas on October 3. The friendly match serves as a preparation tool for the squad during the international break before they resume Serie A competition against Juventus on October 11.
Coach Fabio Pisacane has called up a 21-man squad, which includes recent signing M'Bala Nzola, who is expected to make his debut. The roster also features three players from the Under-20 Primavera side: Nicola Grandu, Samuele Piro, and Alessandro Sugamele.
The squad is missing seven players due to international duties: Alen Sherri (Albania), Adam Obert (Slovakia), Alessandro Romano (Italy), Daniel Maldini (Italy), Alieu Fadera (Gambia), Joseph Liteta (Zambia), and Juan Rodríguez (Uruguay). Additionally, Alessandro Deiola remains sidelined following meniscus surgery; his recovery is estimated to take approximately one month, with a potential return targeted for late October.
Following the Spanish trip, Cagliari faces a busy October schedule including matches against Monza, Bologna, and Roma.
