Cagliari steps up striker search, targets Bowie and Zanon

Italian Serie A club Cagliari, after abandoning a contract renewal with forward Andrea Belotti, has accelerated its transfer activity. Sporting director Pietro Accardi is monitoring Scottish striker Kieron Bowie, owned by Hellas Verona, and has noted strong interest from Sassuolo, making the deal a potential market duel.

Cagliari is also negotiating with Carrarese for right‑winger Simone Zanon, whose transfer fee is reported at €3‑4 million. Accardi hopes to finalise the Zanon move quickly to strengthen the right flank, which already includes players such as Zé Pedro and Zappa. The club is also evaluating other options, including domestic talents, while aiming to avoid a prolonged gap in its attacking line‑up.
