Cagliari students to protest over school building conditions
Students from the L. B. Alberti High School in Cagliari have announced a demonstration scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026. The protest aims to draw attention to the deteriorating conditions of the school's central headquarters on Viale Colombo.
According to student representatives, the building suffers from cracks in various sections, and five classrooms are currently unusable. There are also concerns regarding insufficient maintenance in the remaining accessible areas. Students are calling on the Metropolitan City of Cagliari and the Sardinia Region to provide necessary resources for renovations and to secure a long-term lease for the building, which is currently owned by the Port Authority.
In addition to infrastructure concerns, the school's Board of Governors has approved a proposal to introduce a scientific high school track focused on sports, including water sports and sailing, to leverage the school's proximity to the sea.
