Cagliari to host new Christmas Village in Piazza del Carmine

Cagliari has announced a new plan for its 2026 Christmas celebrations, centered around the creation of a Christmas Village in Piazza del Carmine. This marks a significant shift for the city's holiday festivities, which will now include an ice skating rink, a play area, and dedicated food and beverage spaces.

In addition to the new village, the city will maintain traditional markets in Piazza Yenne and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. A total of 80 small houses will be distributed across these locations. The program is scheduled to run from December 1 through the Epiphany.

Economic Development Councilor Carlo Serra stated that the initiative aims to revitalize the historic center and encourage residents and visitors to return to the area. The project is also intended to restore a central role to Piazza del Carmine by utilizing its capacity for large-scale activities.
