Cagnano wins 2026 Bravìo delle Botti in Montepulciano

The Cagnano district has secured its second consecutive victory in the 2026 Bravìo delle Botti in Montepulciano. The winning pair, Luca Benassi (known as Cittino) and Samuele Cesaroni (known as Fontone), achieved a time of 9 minutes and 6 seconds.

Despite starting from the second row of the grid and trailing for much of the race, the Cagnano team managed a significant comeback. They overtook the leading San Donato district near the Paolino arch and maintained their lead through the final meters on the Piazza Grande square. Gracciano finished in second place with a time of 9 minutes and 7 seconds, narrowly missing the win, while San Donato took third.

This victory marks the twelfth win for the Cagnano district, maintaining its position at the top of the historical rankings. The win follows a 34-year period without a title that was broken by their 2025 success.
