Cahors court to try man for death threats against Rima Hassan
A man has been summoned to appear before the Cahors criminal court on January 15, 2027, following allegations of death threats made against MEP Rima Hassan. The individual was taken into custody on October 14 on charges of death threats or dangerous threats to property against a public official.
According to Clara Ribeiro, the public prosecutor for Cahors, the suspect has admitted to the facts and expressed regret. Rima Hassan previously noted on social media that she had spoken with the man, describing him as a troubled individual who regretted his actions. Despite his expressed remorse, Hassan’s legal counsel is maintaining the formal complaint.
