Cainiao rolls out three‑day international parcel delivery service
Cainiao Group, the logistics arm of Alibaba, announced the launch of its Global Three‑Day Delivery service. The offering promises door‑to‑door parcel delivery within 72 hours across 15 trade lanes that link China with major European markets and selected routes in the Middle East. Initial corridors include Hong Kong–United Kingdom, Hong Kong–Netherlands, Germany–France, Germany–Netherlands, Germany–Luxembourg and Saudi Arabia–United Arab Emirates.
The service relies on Cainiao’s integrated network of roughly 170 weekly charter flights, more than 2,300 trucking routes and the Hong Kong eHub, which enables direct transfer of shipments from fulfillment centres to aircraft. Senior Vice President Xiong Wei said faster cross‑border delivery is becoming a strategic competitive advantage, reducing inventory needs, improving cash flow and allowing merchants to replenish stock more frequently.
Cainiao positions the three‑day option as a cost‑effective alternative to premium courier services, aiming to raise the overall customer experience in global e‑commerce.
