Cairo and Giza traffic report fluctuations in road congestion

Traffic conditions in Cairo and Giza have fluctuated between periods of high congestion and relative fluidity over the recent days.

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, significant traffic densities were reported across several major axes in Giza, including Dokki, Agouza, and the Nile Corniche. Congestion was also noted in Cairo areas such as Ain Shams, Ramses, and Tahrir Square, as well as on the Ring Road and the 26th of July Axis. Security services were deployed to manage these flows and enforce traffic regulations.

By Friday morning, September 18, 2026, conditions improved to relative fluidity in many areas. Eastern Cairo, including Nasr City and Heliopolis, saw regular traffic flow, though some minor slowing occurred near the Al-Azhar tunnel. In Giza, areas like Mohandessin and Dokki remained active, with some slowdowns reported on Pyramids Street near the Giza metro station due to ongoing development works.
