Cairo Governor inaugurates one-day market to provide discounted food supplies

Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber has inaugurated a ‘one-day market’ in the Wust El Balad district to provide essential food commodities at discounted prices. Held in cooperation with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the initiative aims to offer high-quality goods at rates up to 20% lower than standard market prices.

The market features 30 exhibitors offering a variety of basic goods, including oil, sugar, rice, pasta, detergents, poultry, meat, dairy, vegetables, and fruit. The initiative involves participation from the Holding Company for Food Industries, the National Service Projects Organization, and the Future of Egypt Project, alongside several private sector companies.

Governor Saber emphasized the importance of expanding these markets across the capital to reduce reliance on intermediaries, stabilize prices, and alleviate the financial burden on families.
