Yemeni mother and daughter murdered in Giza apartment

A Yemeni mother and daughter were found murdered in their apartment in Giza, Egypt, following a trip from Al Hudaydah to seek cancer treatment for the daughter. The victims have been identified as 69-year-old Fatoum Mohammed Saeed Khalifa and her 42-year-old daughter, Intisar Mohammed Abkar.

Egyptian security forces responded after relatives grew concerned when the women stopped answering their phones. Upon entering the apartment, they discovered the mother near the entrance with a severe head injury and the daughter deceased in one of the rooms.

Investigations involving surveillance footage led to the arrest of a delivery worker, who reportedly confessed to the crime during questioning. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify a second individual seen on camera at the scene. The Yemeni Embassy in Cairo has confirmed it is closely monitoring the case with Egyptian authorities to ensure justice is served.
