Cairo University launches student competition for October War anniversary

Cairo University, led by President Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, has launched a major student competition titled ‘October in the Eyes of Cairo University Students.’ Held under the slogan ‘From the Memory of Victory to Building the Future,’ the initiative commemorates the 53rd anniversary of the October War victories.

The competition aims to encourage students to express their perspectives on the historical event through modern creative tools, linking national memory with the capacity of new generations to shape the future. The university seeks to present the anniversary in an interactive way that highlights values of planning, science, and collective willpower.

Participants can compete across five distinct tracks: • Short films (3 to 5 minutes). • Digital design and infographics. • Creative writing (essays or short stories). • Podcasts and documentation of human stories. • ‘Innovate for Egypt,’ focusing on technology, AI, energy, water, and health.

Financial prizes are awarded to the top three winners in each track, with 10,000 EGP for first place, 5,000 EGP for second, and 2,000 EGP for third. The event also includes an ‘October Cup’ competition between various university faculties.
