Cairo University reviews progress on faculty housing project

Cairo University President Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek chaired a meeting with the Cairo University 2020 Foundation Board of Trustees to review the executive and financial status of the faculty and staff housing project. The meeting focused on reviewing achievements and discussing steps to complete remaining works and finalize technical and financial settlements.

The project has seen significant progress in infrastructure, including electricity, water, sewage, natural gas, telecommunications, and internet services. Dr. Abdel Sadek noted that the next phase is the final stage for the Housing Project Committee, prioritizing the closure of outstanding files and ensuring sustainable administrative and financial mechanisms for the project's operation.

To facilitate the final settlement with Wadi Nile Company, the committee approved involving the Civil Engineering Research and Studies Center at Cairo University's Faculty of Engineering. The center is tasked with reviewing all technical and financial works, contracts, and invoices to prepare a comprehensive report within three months. Since the committee's reconstitution in December 2024, more than 350 million EGP has been paid to the main contractor.
