Cait Conley, a U.S. Army combat veteran and former national‑security official, won the Democratic nomination for New York’s 17th Congressional District on June 23. She secured roughly 49% of the vote, defeating Beth Davidson and other contenders, and out‑raised her primary opponents by more than $1 million.

Conley’s background includes service in Iraq and Afghanistan, a West Point education and a stint as the counter‑terrorism director on the White House National Security Council.
