Caitlin Clark Skips 3‑Point Contest, Faces Suspension Risk at All‑Star Weekend

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark declined the WNBA’s invitation to the 2026 All‑Star Weekend 3‑Point Contest, joining New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride in turning down the event. The contest field will instead feature rookie Azzi Fudd and seasoned shooters Marina Mabrey, Rhyne Howard, Natisha Hiedeman, Janelle Salaün and Bridget Carleton.

Clark remains slated to start in the All‑Star Game on Saturday, but she is on the league’s radar after accruing a sixth technical foul early in a recent game against the New York Liberty. With two more technicals triggering an automatic one‑game suspension, the Fever’s star is at risk of missing future action. Despite the disciplinary concerns, Clark earned her second Player‑of‑the‑Week award, averaging 25.0 points and 7.7 assists over the past three games.

The All‑Star weekend also introduced a new Shooting Stars competition, replacing the Skills Challenge, featuring WNBA legends, current players and Nike EYBL prospects across four regional teams.
