Caitlin Clark rejects reporter's question regarding Angel Reese

Following Team USA’s 97-79 victory over France to secure the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup gold medal, Caitlin Clark confronted a reporter during a post-game press conference in Berlin. When asked if she and teammate Angel Reese were “friends now,” Clark rejected the premise of the question, stating they have “always been friends” and telling the reporter, “Don’t try to do that.”

Clark expressed frustration with media narratives that have attempted to frame the two players as rivals for several years. Both players served as teammates during the ten-day tournament, with Reese noting that they have been able to “rely on each other” and “lean on each other” during their first major national event together.

In the championship game, Clark contributed 12 points, three assists, and a rebound in approximately 13 minutes of play. Reese added three points, three rebounds, a block, and a steal in nine minutes.
