Caixa delays new health plan proposal amid employee dissatisfaction
Caixa Econômica Federal did not present a new proposal for the Saúde Caixa health plan during negotiations with the bank's Executive Commission of Employees (CEE) in São Paulo on Tuesday night. The bank acknowledged significant dissatisfaction among employees regarding two previous proposals and stated it has decided to conduct further studies to develop a model that is both acceptable to staff and financially sustainable for the institution.
Employee representatives expressed frustration, noting that the bank had previously signaled a new alternative would be ready. CEE coordinator Luiza Hansen emphasized that employees are seeking more resources for the plan rather than proposals that shift cost increases onto them. The union is demanding that Caixa cover 70% of Saúde Caixa expenses, with employees responsible for the remaining 30%, and is calling for the removal of a 6.5% cap on the bank's financial participation based on payroll and earnings.
