Caixa Econômica Federal Begins New Cash Assistance Disbursements in Brazil
The federal bank Caixa Econômica Federal announced two separate cash‑assistance programs in June 2026. Between 22 and 26 June, the bank will transfer payments of R$ 600, R$ 750 or R$ 1 000 to eligible families under a social‑benefit scheme, with eligibility based on income level, household composition and other vulnerability criteria. Beneficiaries can check status and receive funds through the Caixa Tem mobile app.
Starting 29 June, Caixa will also deposit the fourth installment of the “Pé‑de‑Meia” education incentive. Students in public high schools receive R$ 200, while those in the Youth and Adult Education program receive R$ 225, provided they maintain at least 80 % attendance and meet CadÚnico registration requirements. Payments follow a birth‑month schedule and are credited to a digital savings account that can be accessed via the Caixa Tem app.
Both programs aim to support low‑income families and encourage school attendance, with the funds made available through the same banking platform.
