CaixaBank appoints Juan Llamas as head of Wealth Management amid restructuring
CaixaBank has approved a new organisational structure for its Wealth Management division and the related asset‑management business. Juan Llamas, with 30 years of private‑banking experience, has been named director of CaixaBank Wealth Management, succeeding Belén Martín. Llamas will report directly to Jordi Mondéjar, the bank’s Business Director, who will also become a member of the board and take direct oversight of CaixaBank Asset Management.
Belén Martín has been reassigned as Managing Director of CaixaBank’s International Representation Offices, overseeing a network of 18 centres in 16 countries. Laura Comas has been appointed director of Wealth’s Value‑Proposition and will join the board of CaixaBank Wealth Management Luxembourg. Llamas also assumes joint‑mandate responsibilities for Real Estate Wealth and becomes a councilor of OpenWealth.
The restructuring coincides with continued growth in the wealth‑management segment, which reported €200 billion in assets under management in April and a client base of 193 000, up by 19 000 from the previous period.
