CaixaBank appoints new wealth management head as Interbank adopts Anthropic AI

CaixaBank has appointed Juan Llamas as the new director of CaixaBank Wealth Management. Llamas, a veteran with three decades of experience in private banking including roles at Barclays Wealth, Morgan Stanley, and AB Asesores, succeeds Belén Martín. Martín will transition to leading the bank’s foreign representation offices across eighteen centers in sixteen countries.

The reorganization includes moving CaixaBank Asset Management to report directly to the general business area to increase its transversal impact. Additionally, Jordi Mondéjar will join the board of directors of the subsidiary as vice president.

In Peru, Interbank has entered into a direct commercial agreement with Anthropic to integrate Claude Enterprise and advanced generative and agentic AI capabilities into its operations. This partnership aims to optimize internal processes and enhance customer experiences. Interbank is the first bank in the country to establish such a direct relationship with Anthropic to deploy these technologies for its employees and clients.
