A man identified as RPP (29 or 30) has been arrested for the fatal abuse of his 11-month-old daughter in Kampung Lio, Cakung, East Jakarta. The victim, Rea, died after being subjected to physical violence.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect struck the infant's back with a clenched fist and slammed the back of her head against a wall three times. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2026, while the child's mother was at work.

The suspect reportedly attempted to hide the abuse by crying and asking witnesses for help to take the child to the hospital, claiming she was suffering from vomiting. However, hospital staff and witnesses noticed extensive bruising on the infant's face and body.

Authorities stated the motive was driven by the suspect's jealousy regarding his wife's communications with another individual. RPP is currently being held by the Polres Metro Jakarta Timur and faces charges under Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection.
