Cal Foote signs one-year contract with Sweden's Färjestad BK
Former NHL defenseman Cal Foote, 27, has agreed to a one-year deal with Swedish SHL club Färjestad BK that runs through the 2026‑27 season. Foote joined the team after a season with the AHL's Chicago Wolves, scoring four goals and 14 assists in 48 regular‑season games and adding 11 points in 21 playoff contests as the Wolves reached the Calder Cup final.
Previously, Foote appeared in 145 NHL regular‑season games for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils, recording 20 points. He also featured in 13 NHL playoff games, and his name was added to the Stanley Cup after the Lightning’s 2021 championship run. Earlier in his career he was among five members of Canada’s 2018 World Junior team charged with sexual assault, but he was later found not guilty.
