Cal Poly football defeats Eastern Washington to start Big Sky play 2-0

Cal Poly football secured a 31-27 victory over Eastern Washington, marking the program's first 2-0 start in Big Sky play since 2013. Running back Jaden Green led the Mustangs with 269 rushing yards and 311 all-purpose yards, including two touchdowns of over 50 yards each.

The game was decided in the final minutes after Cal Poly's Julian Njelita blocked an extra point earlier in the contest. Quarterback Anthony Grigsby Jr. and receiver Tayvion McCoy connected on a 23-yard touchdown pass with just over a minute remaining to seal the win. Eastern Washington's final attempt to tie the game via a Hail Mary was intercepted by defensive back RL Miller.
