Cal Poly upsets Idaho State 25-24 in homecoming victory
The Cal Poly Mustangs upset the Idaho State Bengals with a 25-24 victory during the Bengals' homecoming game at the ICCU Dome.
Anthony Grigsby Jr. led the Mustangs' comeback, accounting for three touchdowns. After trailing 24-18 in the fourth quarter, Grigsby orchestrated a 66-yard drive, culminating in a 5-yard touchdown pass to Misa Paiau with just 40 seconds remaining. Grigsby finished the game with 198 passing yards and 55 rushing yards.
Idaho State, ranked No. 16 in the Stats Perform poll, initially held a lead fueled by kicker Mason Lindberg, who went 5-for-5 on field goal attempts, including a career-long 50-yard kick. The Bengals also recorded a safety in the third quarter to extend their lead. However, Idaho State's offense was hampered by two interceptions thrown by quarterback Jordan Cooke, including one on the final drive that ended the game.
