Cal Poly women's soccer defeats Pacific 4-1
Cal Poly women's soccer defeated the University of the Pacific 4-1 on Thursday at Knoles Field. The victory brings the Mustangs' record to 3-2-2, while the Pacific Tigers remain winless at 0-7.
Cal Poly opened the scoring in the 40th minute with a penalty kick by Miah Thomas. After a scoreless first half, Sophia Minnite scored in the 67th minute to extend the lead. Pacific responded quickly through Kaya Rosa, who scored in the 68th minute to make it 2-1. However, Cal Poly regained control with goals from Isis Salazar-Ortega in the 72nd minute and Ruby Casey in the 78th minute.
The match saw Cal Poly outshoot Pacific 14 to 7. For the Tigers, freshman goalkeeper Ava Wells recorded three saves.
