Cal State Fullerton student dies after fraternity event
Anthony Joseph Blas, an 18-year-old student at Cal State Fullerton, died after being dropped off at St. Jude Medical Center unresponsive following a fraternity gathering. The Fullerton Police Department responded to the hospital shortly after midnight on a Saturday, where Blas was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations suggest that alcohol consumption was a contributing factor in the death. However, authorities stated there is no evidence of foul play or hazing involved in the incident. The fraternity event attended by Blas was noted to be unaffiliated with Cal State Fullerton.
