Cala Gonone arson investigation after vehicle fire

Authorities in Cala Gonone are investigating a suspected arson attack after a vehicle was destroyed by fire. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning on via Osala, on the outskirts of the seaside hamlet.

A Fiat Bravo, owned by a 50-year-old resident of Dorgali, was engulfed in flames. The fire was discovered around 3:00 AM when the glow woke local residents and the owner. Firefighters from the Nuoro command responded to the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes.

Preliminary investigations by the Carabinieri suggest the fire may have been intentional, as the vehicle had been parked for several hours, making an accidental cause less likely. The Dorgali Carabinieri have launched an investigation to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
