Cala Piteras reopens after temporary water quality closure

Cala Piteras in Torrevieja has reopened for swimming following a brief closure due to water quality concerns. The area was temporarily shut down after routine controls detected parameters of residual origin.

The Torrevieja City Council activated its Beach Management System protocol as a preventive measure to ensure public health. Local police and lifeguards enforced the closure by raising a red flag and prohibiting access to the water.

Following new analytical tests, the water parameters were confirmed to be within legal limits for recreational use. The closure lasted less than 24 hours, and the restrictions have been lifted now that the water meets all safety standards.
