Italian regional governments announce new labor and procurement measures

In Calabria, the regional government has approved the definitive signing of the 2026 supplementary collective agreement (Cci) for staff. The agreement, announced by Personnel Assessor Antonio Montuoro, introduces several economic and organizational updates. Key measures include increasing meal vouchers to 8 euros, allocating 400,000 euros for commuters, and establishing new rules for smart working and career progression to improve work-life balance.

In Umbria, a new legislative proposal has been introduced to transform the region into a “model client” for legality and labor dignity in public contracts. Proposed by Fabrizio Ricci and Letizia Michelini, the bill aims to update regional laws to align with the 2023 Public Contracts Code. The proposal focuses on strengthening worker protections, enhancing the Regional Observatory for public contracts, and introducing mandatory safety meetings for large-scale tenders.
