Calabria expands Vinitaly events and launches 17th Calici sotto le Stelle wine festival
The regional government of Calabria confirmed that the Vinitaly and the City program will double its presence in the region in 2026, with two editions scheduled for Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August in the archaeological park of Sibari and a debut event on the Reggio Calabria seafront. The initiative, organized by Veronafiere Spa in partnership with the Calabria Department of Agriculture and local municipalities, aims to showcase the region’s wine production and boost export, as regional president Roberto Occhiuto said the wine sector is an "extraordinary ambassador of our identity."
In parallel, the 17th edition of the "Calici sotto le Stelle" festival was presented for the 2026 season. The event will be held in Cirella and Diamante, supported by the municipality, the Calabria Region, ARSAC and the GAL "Riviera dei Cedri". Mayor Achille Ordine highlighted the festival’s role in promoting Calabria’s cultural and gastronomic heritage, while regional councilor Antonio De Caprio and ARSAC director Fulvia Michela Caligiuri emphasized its contribution to tourism and the local economy. Both events are positioned as key pillars of Calabria’s strategy to strengthen its wine brand, attract visitors and reinforce regional economic growth.
