Milan mayoral race: Mario Calabresi signals interest in 2027 candidacy

He emphasized the need for broad alliances and a focus on bridging the gap between the city's international profile and its more peripheral, struggling neighborhoods.

Recent polling from Monitor Ixè-Milano regarding potential center-left primaries shows a split in candidate profiles. While Pierfrancesco Majorino maintains a higher name recognition rate at 75%, Calabresi leads significantly in terms of trust and electoral consensus, holding 68% compared to Majorino's 50%.

The survey also highlights general dissatisfaction among Milanese residents; while the quality of life is rated at 6.3 out of 10, two-thirds of citizens believe it has declined in recent years, with 95% calling for changes in how the city is administered.
