Calabria farms to receive up to €112 million aid for cyclone Harry damage

From 10 July, the AGEA/SIAN portal will accept applications from agricultural businesses in Calabria for compensation covering damage to farm buildings caused by the exceptional weather event known as cyclone Harry, which hit the region between 18 January and February 2026. Applications must be submitted by 25 July.

The programme is part of extraordinary measures financed by Italy’s Ministry of Agriculture, allocating a total €112 million to Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia. Eligible applicants are primary‑production farms registered with the Chamber of Commerce and holding a farm file, whose premises lie in the zones identified by regional decree. A subsequent de‑minimis scheme will address losses to agricultural production, with the regional Agriculture assessor Gianluca Gallo stressing that the support “adds to the civil‑protection interventions and is aimed specifically at farms hard‑hit by the exceptional meteorological events.”
