Calabria healthcare professionals discuss Shiatsu and physiotherapy

Healthcare professionals and institutions in Calabria held conferences to discuss the integration of complementary therapies and the evolving role of physiotherapy in public health.

In Crotone, the ‘Comunichiamo lo Shiatsu’ event, part of the XV Shiatsu Week, focused on how manual pressure and meridian points can be integrated into daily life. Promoted by the Artoi Foundation and supported by the Calabria Region, the event included discussions on integrated therapies for oncology patients and the importance of professional training.

Simultaneously, in Catanzaro, the interprovincial Order of Physiotherapists organized the ‘FISIO360’ event to mark World Physiotherapy Day. The initiative emphasized a holistic approach to physiotherapy, moving beyond injury rehabilitation to include prevention, movement education, chronic condition management, and functional recovery. The event aimed to increase community awareness regarding the profession's expanded scope in supporting autonomy across different life stages.
