Calabria hosts cultural and tourism award ceremonies

Several cultural and professional awards were recently presented in the Calabria region of Italy.

The Associazione Amici di Calabaia held the third edition of its cultural prize in Belvedere Marittimo. The award recognizes the best master's or doctoral thesis focused on sustainable development. The competition included eight qualifying candidates from five Italian universities across the regions of Piemonte, Lombardia, Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia-Romagna, and Calabria. Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the link between environmental sustainability, agriculture, and the need for interdisciplinary research to address climate change.

In Cetraro, Roberto Gallo, founder of Riva Restaurant in Falerna Marina, was honored with the 2026 Vela d’Argento in the tourism category. The award was presented during the 'Mare Dentro dei Parchi marini regionali della Calabria' event, which celebrates local talent, maritime heritage, and the strategic importance of the tourism and hospitality sectors in the region.
