Calabria hosts cultural festivals focused on regional identity and innovation
The Calabria region is hosting significant cultural events focused on regional identity and transformation. The fourth edition of the “Ruggine & Oro” Festival della Restanza, organized by the #IoResto association, will take place in Crotone on September 21 and 22. The festival aims to highlight local excellence through cinema, theater, and music, while introducing a new section dedicated to the future that encourages guests to propose concrete projects for the territory.
Additionally, the Biennale dello Stretto is scheduled to run from September 18 to December 13, 2026. Centered on the theme of “mutations,” the event will connect Calabria and Sicily, utilizing sites such as Forte Batteria Siacci in Campo Calabro. Curated by Alfonso Femia, Annalisa Metta, and Salima Naji, the Biennale explores architecture as a tool for cultural, social, and environmental transformation within the Strait area.
