Calabria hosts filming for new Rai series ‘La veterinaria’

Filming is underway in Calabria for the new Rai television series ‘La veterinaria’. The production, led by directors Luca Lucini and Giuseppe Curti, features actors Gaia Messerklinger and Nino Frassica.

Set locations include the Pollino National Park, the Lao River, Morano Calabro, and Castrovillari. Recent filming has taken place in the Masistro area within the municipality of Saracena. The series is produced by Pepito with support from the Calabria Film Commission.

The plot follows Irene Andreoli, played by Messerklinger, a veterinarian who moves to Calabria to restart her life. The narrative explores her professional challenges regarding the coexistence of humans and wildlife, as well as her growing connections with the local community.
