Calabria hosts upcoming wine festival and art biennale

The Calabria region is preparing for two distinct cultural events. The inaugural Verbicaro Wine Festival is scheduled for October 3–4, 2026. The festival aims to promote the local territory through wine, gastronomy, and music. A major highlight of the event is the “Una storia unica” concert on October 4, featuring a rare joint performance by Italian progressive rock legends Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Of New Trolls, and Le Orme feat. Bernardo Lanzetti.

Additionally, the village of Filogaso in the province of Vibo Valentia will host the “Prima Biennale di Filogaso” starting September 26. This ambitious art project integrates painting, sculpture, and poetry to showcase contemporary talent. The exhibition will feature a diverse group of national and international artists, including Carmela Capria, Andrea Stanic, Rubi Patricia Ferrer, and José Miranda. The event is supported by local leadership as a means of cultural revitalization for the community.
