Calabria invests in security facilities and confiscated assets

The Calabria Region is investing over 1.1 million euros to renovate and upgrade security facilities used by law enforcement. This initiative, funded through the 2007-2013 PAC Program, aims to improve operational standards and workplace safety for personnel engaged in upholding legality.

In Trebisacce, a specific project will utilize a 100-square-meter apartment seized from organized crime in 2010 to expand the local Carabinieri Tenenza. Supported by approximately 40,000 euros in regional funding, the property will be renovated to serve as service housing and operational space for the newly elevated Carabinieri unit.

The Unione Sindacale Italiana Finanzieri (USIF) has welcomed the regional decision, noting that the investment strengthens the state's presence on the territory and ensures that officers work in environments that meet health and safety requirements.
